If you have taken the Financials or the HR course, start here. SCM data security is a third model. Not a variation — a third one. Financials keys on ledgers and business units. HCM keys on person security profiles. SCM keys on security contexts — inventory organization, manufacturing plant, cost organization — granted per user or per role. Assuming any of the three transfers is the fastest route to a broken configuration, and it is better to arrive here knowing nothing than to arrive confident. The function security chain is the same everywhere: user, role, duty, privilege. That part transfers, and it is the only part that does. The data security layer is specific to SCM, and the question it answers is which organizations' data can you touch — answered by granting security contexts.
