Six cases. One. "I received it but it is not in stock." Standard routing; putaway not done. The single most common receiving question — and it is not a defect, it is a two-step process nobody explained. Two. "The over-receipt was rejected at the dock and the truck is waiting." Tolerance set too tight — or the action set to reject when warn was intended, which is the culture decision taken without anybody realising a decision was being taken. Three. "Everything requires inspection and the dock is full." Over-applied inspection routing. Four. "Material in the receiving area is not in any report." It is an intermediate state.
