Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 16 · Cost Planning
Standard costs for materials
Lesson 165 of 188 · 13 min
Open Manage Standard Costs under Cost and Profit Planning and create. Select the scenario, the item and the valuation unit. In the details, set the cost element, cost element type, unit cost, and expense pool where applicable. Save and close, enter costs for several purchased components, show a bulk upload path for a large item set, and verify. The valuation unit selection is where the previous module's structure decision shows up. If you valued by subinventory, you are entering costs per subinventory — this is the moment a design decision becomes a data entry volume. Purchased material costs come from Procurement or from the buyer. Get them in writing; do not invent them. For a real client this is hundreds or thousands of rows. Use the upload.
