Lookups

Lesson 145 of 175 · 11 min

Show the lookup types across person, employment and workforce structures, distinguish user, extensible and system lookup types and what each permits, add codes to an extensible lookup, disable a code rather than deleting it and explain why, then show tags and the considerations for removing them, and a lookup change appearing on a page. Disable, do not delete. Historical records referencing a deleted code display badly and reports break. This is the third module the rule has appeared in — Modules 9 and 11 — so treat it as a pattern rather than a fact about lookups. System lookups cannot be changed. If a client needs different values there, it is a design conversation, per the first lesson.
