Name styles and formats

Review the delivered person name styles per legislation and see how the field sets differ by country. Configure a name style for a country that needs different components. Configure the name formats — display, list, order-by, full name — apply them to person names, keywords and directory display, run the process that applies format changes, and look at the same person under two formats. Name handling is where global implementations get culturally clumsy. Name order, the presence or absence of a middle name, multiple surnames, honorifics — all vary. Get the country HR leads to review the styles before go-live. It is a five-minute conversation that prevents a great deal of offence, and the offence is given to employees rather than to the project.
