Shipping parameters

Lesson 128 of 188 · 13 min

Open Manage Shipping Parameters selecting the organization — and note that selector, since this is per-organization setup. Set the shipping and pick release defaults, set the staging subinventory and locator, set weight and volume UOM defaults, set the ship confirm rule and over-shipment tolerances, save, and repeat for the second organization. Shipping parameters govern how a shipment is created and confirmed, and how shipping interacts with inventory. They are per organization, so multi-plant clients configure them several times — and forgetting the second plant is one of this module's failure cases. The staging subinventory is where picked material sits before shipping. It must exist. Weight and volume defaults matter for carrier integration and for anything that rates freight.
