Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 13 · Shipping

Shipping documents and transfers

Lesson 132 of 188 · 10 min

Generate a packing slip and a bill of lading, show document configuration options at a high level, then perform an inter-organization shipment from Skien to Bergen using the full shipping flow and receive it at Bergen, closing the loop with the receiving module. Show in-transit stock, if the relationship was configured as in-transit. The Skien-to-Bergen round trip is the module's payoff. It uses shipping, receiving, the inter-organization relationship and the in-transit decision, all at once. This is the moment four modules join up. If in-transit was configured, look at the stock sitting in transit: it is on the balance sheet in neither plant's stores and is still owned. That is exactly the thing the four-hour van journey in the organizations lab was asking you to decide about.
