Seven steps — demand, pick release, pick confirm, staging, ship confirm, on-hand reduction, cost of goods sold — and one of them matters far more than the others. Where demand comes from: sales orders from Order Management, inter-organization transfers, and returns to suppliers. And the same honesty about the boundary as the last module: sales order management is a separate application. You configure the shipping execution. Why ship confirm is the pivotal event. It is the point ownership transfers, on-hand reduces, and cost of goods sold is recognised. Everything before it is preparation — picking, staging, paperwork, none of which has moved a number that Finance sees. Ship confirm moves three. And the case that matters in this course specifically.
