Creating an identity domain

Lesson 36 of 201 · 12 min

Navigate to identity domains and show the default domain that came with the account. Create a new domain, choosing its type and the settings that are fixed at creation. Show the domain's URL and administrators, and where environments are assigned to it. Then explain what is now separate from the default domain, and prove it: a user in the new domain cannot sign in to the old one. Some domain settings are fixed at creation. Read the screen before you click Create. Each domain has its own sign-in URL. Users will need the right one, and giving them the wrong one produces a support ticket that reads like an access problem — which is how a five-minute confusion becomes a half-day investigation. You have just doubled your identity administration. If that was not a deliberate decision from Lesson 4, undo it now while it is cheap.
