Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 14 · Work Execution
Material availability and reservations
Lesson 137 of 188 · 11 min
Run the material availability check on a work order, show a shortage, resolve it with a miscellaneous receipt, re-check and show availability, show reservations created against components, and show the effect on available quantity elsewhere. Check availability before releasing. A released work order with no material is a stalled work order and an annoyed supervisor. This is where the availability-versus-on-hand distinction pays off — and the effect on available quantity elsewhere is the answer to "but the stock is right there".
