Standard work orders reference a work definition and inherit operations, materials and resources — the normal case. Non-standard work orders do not. Materials and operations are entered manually, and they are used for rework, one-offs, disassembly and maintenance-style work. Rework is the one you will use constantly. The status lifecycle is unreleased, released, complete, closed — and what matters is what each permits and what each blocks. Two execution styles, and this is the design decision in the module.
