Project plan types

Lesson 93 of 198 · 14 min

Create a project plan type. Assign the planning resource breakdown structure from Module 8. Set task settings — what a project manager can change — progress settings and the physical percent complete method, effort and cost derivation behaviour, and the rate schedule defaults, connecting to Module 6. Save, and create a project plan against it. THE RBS ASSIGNMENT HERE IS WHERE MODULE 8 BECOMES REAL. The planner's resource list appearing in the plan is the moment a design decision becomes a screen somebody uses. Task settings determine how much freedom a project manager has. Too restrictive and they resent it; too free and plans are not comparable. Progress settings preview Module 10.
