Enable approval on the financial plan type and configure the approval routing for a plan version. Submit a version for approval, approve it as the approver and show the notification, show rejection and resubmission, show the approved version becoming the baseline, and show the approval history. THE PLAN VERSION APPROVAL WORKFLOW IS A GENUINE CONTROL. A budget that anyone can change is not a budget. Configure escalation and delegation, or plan approvals stall behind somebody's holiday and the forecast cycle slips — which is a whole month, not a day. Keep the routing simple. Two levels covers most businesses.
