Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 11 · The Action Framework, Employment Flows and Terminations
Hire, promote, transfer
Lesson 114 of 175 · 14 min
Complete a full hire with an action reason and an approval. Promote a worker — grade change, position change, approval. Transfer within the same legal employer. Then transfer between legal employers, and see that this is a different operation with different service date consequences. Add a global transfer scenario, and look at the assignment history after all four. Transfer within versus between legal employers is the distinction to labour. Between employers changes the work relationship and therefore statutory service. In several countries that has real consequences for entitlements, and those consequences land on the employee — so get local HR to confirm the correct pattern per country. And global transfer versus terminate-and-rehire: both exist, they behave differently, and the choice has legal implications. Know both, and confirm with local HR rather than treating either as a default.
