Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 10 · The Employment Model and Assignments
Multiple assignments in practice
Lesson 104 of 175 · 12 min
Add a second concurrent assignment to an existing work relationship, set FTE on both and look at the aggregate, set different departments, managers and locations on each, look at the primary assignment flag and what it drives, see the worker appearing in two managers' teams, and then end one assignment while the other continues. The aggregate FTE question is one clients always ask. Show where total FTE is visible and where it is not — both halves, because the second is what generates the complaint. Two managers means two approval paths and two security populations containing the same person. That is correct behaviour, and it surprises people — it gets reported as a bug. And ending one assignment is not termination. That distinction is worth demonstrating on screen: it is a common user error and an expensive one.
