Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 14 · Workforce Records and Schedules

Building and assigning work schedules

Lesson 137 of 175 · 15 min

Create shifts of both elapsed and time types, a weekly pattern, and a rotating pattern over a four-week cycle. Assemble a work schedule from patterns, assign schedules at enterprise, legal employer and assignment level, then show the resolution hierarchy by assigning at two levels and demonstrating which wins. View a worker's resolved schedule and verify the working days, then show a part-time pattern and check the FTE relationship from Module 6. Demonstrate the resolution hierarchy explicitly. Assign at two levels on screen and show which one applies. This is the mechanic that confuses everyone, and it cannot be taught by describing it. Test a worker's resolved calendar. Do not trust the configuration; look at the output. And rotating patterns are where mistakes hide, because they only surface in week three of a cycle. Check a full cycle — one of the failure cases is somebody who checked week one.
