Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 8 · Item Structures
Creating a structure
Lesson 80 of 188 · 12 min
From Product Information Management, find an item using advanced search, open it and go to the structures tab. Create a new structure: select the name, set date effectivity, apply, and add details. Search and add component items, set quantities, save and close, then view the structure. The components must exist as items first. Obvious — and the first cause of a failed bulk load. Effectivity dates default to today. For a structure representing an existing product, backdate to something sensible, or historical work orders will fail. Easy to miss and annoying to unpick.
