Components, quantities, yield and scrap

Set the component quantity per assembly, set the unit of measure and show a conversion in action — the units module's payoff. Configure component yield, and explain the difference from scrap. Set the supply type — the work definitions module uses it — set optional and required components, and show the effect of yield on required quantity, with the arithmetic on screen. Yield is the attribute nobody sets and everybody needs. If you scrap three per cent of a component during assembly, the system must plan and cost for a hundred and three per cent — or you run short every time, and your standard cost is wrong. Both consequences; the second is the one that reaches Finance. Supply type determines whether material is pushed to the work order or backflushed on completion.
