Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 8 · Item Structures
Loading structures in bulk
Lesson 84 of 188 · 11 min
Prepare a structure load file from the course pack, load a small set and verify. Introduce three seeded errors — component item missing, circular reference, invalid effectivity — and show each rejection. Correct and reload, load the full pack, then verify with an indented structure view and a component count. Items must load before structures. Sequence matters here exactly as it does in every other loading exercise in this course. Circular references — a part that contains itself, directly or indirectly — are a real and confusing failure. Trace them with where-used. Verify by looking at a multi-level indented view, not just a count. A count that matches proves the rows arrived; it does not prove they arrived in the right shape.
