This module has no glamour and enormous reach. Expenditure types are referenced by costing, billing, burdening, rates, accounting rules, budgets, forecasts and every report. Eight consumers, from a list somebody usually builds in an afternoon. The objects. Expenditure category — the broad grouping. Revenue category — the billing-side grouping. Expenditure type — the specific cost category. Expenditure type class — the transaction mechanics. Nonlabor resource — equipment and other chargeable non-people resources. Project role — the delivery roles, also used in rates and staffing. EXPENDITURE TYPES ARE STAMPED ON EVERY TRANSACTION. Restructuring after two years of history means either a mass update or a permanently split reporting history. Permanently split — meaning every trend report from then on has a discontinuity in it that somebody has to explain. DESIGN AGAINST THE REPORT YOU MUST PRODUCE.
