Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 11 · Inventory Management

Receipts, issues and transfers

Lesson 110 of 188 · 14 min

A miscellaneous receipt into raw material with an account. A miscellaneous issue with a reason. A subinventory transfer. An inter-organization transfer, using the relationship built earlier. Show the accounting implication of each at a high level, then show a transaction failing on a closed period. Miscellaneous receipt is how you get opening stock into a training or pilot environment. Say so explicitly: you will need it constantly, and it is the fix for the work order that will not complete in the work execution module. It is also the fix for the pilot that fails on camera. Every miscellaneous transaction hits an account. The account is a real decision, not a default to accept. Show the closed-period failure now, so the error message is familiar later.
