Lot control
Lesson 112 of 188 · 14 min
Enable lot control on an item — recalling the organization default and the item override. Configure lot number generation, receive stock creating a lot, set lot attributes including expiry, issue from a specific lot, show lot genealogy — where a lot came from and where it went — and show expiry behaviour and shelf life. Lot control is a traceability commitment and an operator burden. Every transaction on a lot-controlled item asks for a lot number. Enable it where recall exposure, regulation or warranty genuinely require it — and not because it seemed safer. Genealogy is the reason lot control exists. Being able to answer "which customers received product containing supplier batch X" in thirty seconds is the entire business case — and it is the sentence that justifies the operator burden to the plant. Expiry management matters in food, pharma and adhesives. Ask.
