Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 11 · Inventory Management
Min-max planning and replenishment
Lesson 116 of 188 · 12 min
Set min-max levels at organization and subinventory level, run the min-max planning report, show the resulting requisitions or transfer suggestions, show replenishment for a subinventory, and show the interaction with the wider planning application at a boundary level. Min-max is the simple option for consumables and low-value items where full planning is overkill — fasteners, gloves, cutting fluid. Scope honestly: full supply planning is a separate application and a separate project. This is the lightweight alternative for a defined class of items. Min-max levels need reviewing as demand changes. Another item for the client's runbook — and, like every other runbook item in this course, it needs a name against it.
