Configuring position synchronization

Enable synchronisation at enterprise level, then show the legal-employer-level override. Select the attributes to synchronise using the matrix from the previous lesson. Configure manager synchronisation from the position hierarchy, configure action reason synchronisation, and map a flexfield. Change a position attribute and run the synchronisation process. Open an affected assignment and look at the changed, now read-only, field. Then deliberately demonstrate the surprise: attempt to override a synchronised attribute on an assignment, and watch it blocked. Run the process. Show the process. It is the step people forget, and forgetting it is what makes the feature look broken. The read-only demonstration is the most valuable ten seconds in the module. It is a client complaint being pre-empted — somebody who has seen it will recognise it instantly instead of raising a defect.
