Creating items manually

Navigate to Product Information Management — and note again that this is not in Setup and Maintenance. Create an item: select the organization, the number of items, the item class. Apply a template from the available list, complete the required attributes, save and review. Then create a second item of a different class, to show the difference. Creating several items at once is supported and worth knowing. The organization here is the item master. Creating directly in an operating organization is a common early error — and it produces an item that exists in one plant and nowhere else.
