Most PPM configuration is adjustable. Three things here are not. One. The project unit assignment on a project. Set at creation — and the unit governs numbering and behaviour. Moving a project to a different unit after it has costs is a data migration with accounting consequences. Two. Project numbering. Decided at project unit level, and effectively permanent. A mixed-convention project master is a permanent irritation — in every report, every invoice, and every conversation with a client who quotes a project number at you. That last one is what makes this different from an internal numbering scheme. Your client reads these numbers. Three. Organization classification. Adding classifications later is possible.
