The organization object model

Eight objects. Legal entity — from Financials. The legal owner. Business unit — the operating grouping. Needs the project accounting business function enabled to participate in PPM. Owns costing and billing configuration. Project unit — the PPM operating entity. Owns project numbering, calendar defaults, and the options that govern project behaviour. Associated with one or more business units. Organization — a department, division or team. Becomes relevant to PPM only when classified. Project and task owning classification — this organization can own projects and tasks. Project expenditure classification — costs can be incurred against this organization. Organization hierarchy — the tree that determines which organizations are available to a business unit, for each purpose. Reference data set — partitions set-enabled objects; assigned per business unit AND per project unit. One project, four structural facts, four different objects. Created in project unit X.
