"I cannot transact in this organization." Check in this order. One. Do you have the inventory organization security context granted? Two. Is the page's organization context set to the right organization? Three. Is the inventory period open for that organization? Four. Does the item exist in — is it assigned to — this organization? Five. Does the subinventory exist, and is locator control satisfied? Six. For a transfer: does the inter-organization relationship exist in this direction? Then eight cases. One. "We used a plant as the item master and now that plant is closing." Unfixable without re-implementation — and there is no fix paragraph here, which is the whole point of putting that lesson where it is. Two. "The item does not exist in this plant." Created in the master, never assigned to the organization. Three. "The profit center business unit is blank." The enterprise prerequisites flag — third time
