Implementing Manufacturing and Materials Management: From Empty Plant to Costed Work Order · Module 4 · Inventory Organizations and Plants

Proving the structure works

Lesson 42 of 188 · 10 min

Run the verification checklist object by object. Grant the security contexts from the security module for the newly created organizations — this is the step people always forget. Perform a miscellaneous receipt into Plant A raw material, transfer stock to a second subinventory, perform an inter-organization transfer to Plant B, view on-hand in both organizations, then sign in as a restricted user and confirm they see only their organization. A successful transaction is the only proof the structure is correct. Configuration that looks right and fails on the first transaction is normal. A new organization means new security grants. Put it in the runbook. And keep this test stock — later modules use it.
