Lab briefing: the Northwind structure

The longest lab in the course and the one that most resembles real work. Three hours. Read the scenario twice before you start. Northwind Group employs people in four countries. In the largest, three registered legal entities: the main trading company, a services company, and a small acquired business still operating under its own registration eighteen months after purchase. The trading and services companies file payroll under a single group reference; the acquired business files separately. In the second country: one entity, one registration. In the third: one entity with two tax references for two sites. In the fourth: four people employed through a local entity registered last year. Two people hold contracts with both the trading company and the services company. Payroll is out of scope for this phase but planned for next year. Job titles and grades are defined globally by a central HR team and used identically
