Creating legal entities

Lesson 37 of 175 · 12 min

Create the first legal entity — name, registration number, identifying jurisdiction, legal address. Then look at the legal employer and payroll statutory unit checkboxes, and do not tick them: designation is handled properly in its own lesson, because it is not casually reversible once workers exist. Look at the legal reporting unit generated automatically, create a second legal entity in the second country, and create a third in the first country to demonstrate multiple entities within one jurisdiction. The legal address must validate against the geography hierarchy. If geographies are not loaded for that country, stop and load them — this is the earlier dependency arriving exactly as promised. Use the exact registered legal name. It appears on statutory documents: not the trading name, not the one everybody says. And include the country in your naming convention — you will have many of these and they appear in long lists.
