Implementing Global HR: From Enterprise Model to Live Workforce · Module 4 · Legal Entities, LDGs, PSUs, TRUs and Business Units
Associating business units with legal employers
Lesson 42 of 175 · 8 min
Open the legal entity HCM information task, add the associated business units to the first legal employer, repeat for the others to show a one-to-many association, and then look at where the association constrains behaviour in a transaction. The business units must already exist. Obvious — and still the most common reason this task fails. This association is what allows a legal employer's workers to be assigned into those business units. Without it, valid-looking configuration produces an empty list of values at hire time — which is the first failure case in the next-but-one lesson: a one-minute fix that takes half a day to find, because the symptom looks like a data problem and the cause is structural, three tasks away.
